Walt Disney To Globalize Disney India’s ‘Theme Home’

Walt Disney, the parent Company of Disney India, plans to follow ‘theme home’ business initiated by its Indian Subsidiary.

Disney India initiated and applied the ‘theme home’ concept to the residential market in India. Seeing the increased popularity of the theme, Walt Disney aims to introduce ‘theme home‘ concept in the global market.

Under the theme home concept, popular characters of Disney like Mickey Mouse and Goofy will be promoting the residential projects. You get stunned. Under this new theme, Disney India will provide the builders the right to use Disney characters to promote their residential projects.

By giving the promotional rights to the developers the Disney India opens up a new theme home concept to the Indian market. Those projects which will use the Disney Characters will have the furniture and other home decorative items designed by the Disney brand.

So far, two Indian real estate builders have attained the rights to use Disney Characters to promote their residential projects. Mumbai-based Sunteck Real estate developers and Kolkata -based Team Taurus are the two builders who have signed up with Disney India. These builders will use Disney Characters to promote their housing projects.

Seeing the increasing popularity of the ‘Theme Home’ business of Disney India, its parental firm Walt Disney plans to go ahead with the theme. Walt Disney will make it available to the global market.

Disney branded interiors and exteriors are sure to attract and influence the children. Adding to it, the Disney theme oriented painting will all the more be attracting the children to greater extents.

According to Disney UTV’s MD – consumer products, publishing and retail, Ms. Roshini Bakshi the Theme Home’ concept is entirely an innovative idea. She was speaking to the media persons in Kolkata after their tie up with the builder here.

She added that the parent firm was really excited to see the welcome, the theme home concept was received with, in India. This is the reason why it has decided to globalize the theme.
